About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Customs Compliance Specialist to join our international trade and logistics team. This is a hands-on role for a professional who combines deep knowledge of customs regulations with the ability to work independently on operational tasks.
You will be responsible for overseeing customs-related processes across multiple countries, conducting audits, managing tenders, and developing standardized compliance procedures. The ideal candidate is not just an expert — they’re a doerwith strong analytical skills, ready to dive deep and get things done.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage tenders for customs brokerage services
- Draft and review customs-related contracts (in English)
- Conduct regular audits and performance assessments of current customs brokers
- Develop and implement KPIs and standard operating procedures for customs operations
- Monitor and analyze changes in customs legislation across relevant jurisdictions
- Prepare analytical reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
- Research and evaluate foreign customs brokerage markets and potential partners
- Handle customs declarations independently when required
- Support in resolving disputes with customs authorities
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of national customs regulations (including HS codes, customs valuation, and tariff classification)
- Understanding of international customs frameworks is a strong advantage
- At least 5 years of experience in a customs brokerage firm or customs department of an importing/exporting company, ideally in a role such as Senior Customs Analyst or Lead Customs Clearance Specialist
- Proven experience in independent customs declaration of goods
- Practical experience resolving disputes with customs authorities
- Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to structure and analyze complex information
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken), especially for contract work and documentation
- Analytical mindset and willingness to take ownership of both strategic and operational tasks
