We are looking for a PHP Engineer to work on commercial web applications with a strong focus on e-commerce solutions and legacy system modernization. You will work in mixed environments where modern PHP 8.x code coexists with legacy PHP 7.x systems, collaborating closely with backend engineers, QA, DevOps, and product teams.

• 2–4+ years of commercial experience in PHP development (PHP 7.x / 8.x)

• Strong experience with at least one PHP framework (Laravel, Symfony, Laminas/Zend, or Yii2)

• Confident work with relational databases (MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL)

• Experience working with legacy PHP codebases and participating in refactoring or modernization

• Understanding of MVC and layered application architecture

• Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs

• Experience writing automated tests (PHPUnit or Pest)

• Confident use of Composer and dependency management

• Knowledge of modern PHP features (strict types, typed properties, attributes, enums)

• Understanding of PSR standards (PSR-4, PSR-12)

• Ability to debug and safely modify production code

• Experience working with Git and participating in code reviews

• Upper-Intermediate English (spoken and written)

• Experience upgrading PHP versions in production systems (e.g., PHP 7 → PHP 8)

• Experience with e-commerce projects (orders, payments, integrations)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with Docker or containerized environments

• Basic understanding of frontend-backend integration (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

• Experience working in distributed or multi-project teams

• Develop and maintain backend functionality for commercial web applications

• Work with existing legacy systems and participate in their gradual modernization

• Implement new features while ensuring production stability

• Design and extend REST APIs for internal and external integrations

• Refactor and improve existing code with a focus on maintainability and performance

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and product teams

• Be part of an Agile-based, globally distributed team

• Share knowledge and experience with colleagues
