Andersen is hiring a QA Automation Engineer (Python) for a project with a global automotive media provider. The role focuses on testing an app for managing media playback and integrating with popular content platforms.

Our customer is a leading global provider of automotive digital media solutions, offering advanced infotainment platforms tailored for embedded systems and cloud-connected environments. Their technologies support multi-screen playback, BYOD integration, and premium in-car entertainment, serving major OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers across the automotive industry. With a team of over 300 professionals from more than 40 countries and certifications such as ISO 9001, ASPICE, and TISAX, their solutions are trusted and deployed in millions of vehicles worldwide.

The project is an innovative app designed to simplify the management of media playback across various devices and media providers. This project's primary goal is to seamlessly integrate with popular media providers, enabling users to access content from all their preferred sources.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining mobile UI automation scripts using Python and Appium for iOS and Android.

• Building and supporting test frameworks using pytest, unittest, or behave.

• Working with real devices and emulators, using tools like ADB and XCUITest.

• Setting up environments on Linux and macOS, using terminal and package managers (e.g., pip, apt, brew).

• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).

• Debugging test failures and system issues through log analysis.

• Using Git for version control and team collaboration.

• Communicating clearly with QA, DevOps, and development teams.

Must-haves:

• Experience with Python for scripting for 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with Appium for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and debug mobile UI automated test scripts.
• Proficiency in Python test frameworks such as Pytest, Unittest, or Behave.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Confident use of terminal commands, SSH, and shell scripting.
• Experience installing and managing packages using tools like apt and pip.
• Experience using tools like brew, Xcode command-line tools, and system configuration via terminal.
• Experience working with real mobile devices and emulators/simulators.
• Knowledge of ADB (Android) and XCUITest/WebDriverAgent (iOS).
• Ability to design and implement scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks.
• Experience integrating automated tests into Jenkins pipelines.
• Ability to analyze logs, identify root causes of test failures, and debug system issues.
• Proficiency in using Git for source control and collaboration.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working on macOS systems.
