ObjectStyle is a provider of open source solutions and commercial software development services with offices in the US and Poland. We are a major driving force behind such projects as Apache Cayenne – a powerful ORM framework, Bootique.io – a container-less Java app launcher, LinkRest – a model-driven REST engine, and a number of others. Our clients are located in the US, Australia, and EU. We work with the National Hockey League, Wikipedia, and other great companies.

Currently we are looking for a remote Python Developer to join our global team. The customer is an AI-powered question generation platform that is utilized for training purposes at multiple organizations. It has a web interface for both administration, as well as a web-based quiz display site. It tracks analytics based on user performance on quiz responses. They also have iOS and Android applications that are used to display these quizzes. The backend engineer would be working on structural support for those quizzes, the learning paths that users take through these various quizzes, as well as the analytics platform.

Who you are:

• Have a solid understanding of Python 3.x and web frameworks (i.e. FastAPI).
• Comfortable working in Linux and using Docker (we use Ubuntu).
• Experience with SQL databases (we like Postgres) and SQLAlchemy 2.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Committed to writing reliable, scalable, testable, and maintainable code.
• Works well with teams, but can also put headphones on, get in the zone, and get things done on a solo mission.
• Communicates clearly, both verbally and in written English.
• Experienced with Git and GitHub.
• Experience working in a full or partial remote work environment is required. We are a fully remote company.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain core backend platform features and services for Trivie’s platform.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Architect, staff engineers, and the rest of the team to define, build, and develop server-side functionality for new features.
• Write clean and reusable code (with comments, tests, and documentation).

Bonus:

• Familiarity with cloud architecture, development, and deployment practices (preferably AWS) is a plus.
• Understanding and practice of DevOps principles (experience with kubernetes is a plus).
• Previous experience developing integrations for enterprise software.
• An interest in or experience working with machine learning and natural language processing.
